Canadians Responding to Protests in Iran
I think there's a lot of hesitancy in terms of having progressive voices that are obviously in solidarity with feminist movement in Iran protesting for their rights. Like to be in solidarity with that, there is danger in the West to be instrumentalized by more hawkish policy when you do it. The dynamics that I've been seeing is a little bit like when there's a terrorist attack somewhere, all Muslims have to condemn that attack and say that they're not for that. So basically what I'm saying is that all those dynamics are playing over the actual protesters, the actual women whose human rights are being violated in Iran. And so there is basically symbolic debates piling up on their backs. It
