The Consensus View on the Continuum Hypothesis
There really are these two camps at the moment. What would proving or disproving the continuum hypothesis mean for each of these camps? What's at stake? Yeah, that's okay. To a degree, it's been so long since the continuum hypothesis was shown to be undecidable based on the axioms that I think most mathematicians have kind of gotten used to the fact that maybe that's the most that you can say. And I think it would be kind of amazing at this point if mathematicians as a whole could kind of rally around some new heuristic that everyone could agree upon ought to be true. Maybe that will never happen.
