Is Your Colon Cancer Prevalence Overestimated?
A few years ago the guidelines on mammography changed to suggest that women, under 40 should not get mammograms as a screen. But if you are someone who has a 50% chance of getting breast cancer in your life, then a positive mammogram gives you a much, much higher likelihood. And so what we probably end up with in any tests is stratifying populations based on their genetic risk of getting different diseases.
