I think I'm rather happy to grant that there is a sense in which illusionism denies something that seems extremely obvious. Even pre-theoretically. Something whose appearance does not depend on the adoption of any theory but is simply the result of the functioning of introspection understood at the non-theoretical process. But it's seemingly obvious nature, which I recognize, cannot be the last word of this debate. Some people seem to think that the case for illusionism depends on the antecedent acceptance of physicalism.
