The Epic of Gilgamesh

I like to joke that there are two extremes of the literature that I enjoy. One is super old, one is pulpy sci-fi and fantasy. The ether is a science fiction set on a world where there are these kind of ethereal beings this alien race of people who feed off of negative emotion. And so they encourage loops in your mind where you start thinking about all the bad things which if left unchecked can lead to killing rampages. That's what happens with Zen: You eventually subdue it by fighting back against invisible oppressors.
