Is There a Proper Proportion of Abortion?

We think it somewhere around 28 per one thousand women of child bearing age who have an abortion each year. That's about 28 % of known pregnancies, for a total of about forty three or forty four million. But again, that's very hard to track because of stigma, lack of reporting and a kind of abortions that are not done within medical settings. Overwhelmingly early in pregnancy, overwhelmingly younger women who lack social support, and who lack financial support, and women of color.
