Student Loan Forgiveness Is Not Progressive

The Obama administration is considering a total student loan forgiveness. It would be one of the most progressive policies you can possibly design, says CNN's John Sutter. The top fifth of households hold three dollars in student loans for every one dollar held by the bottom fifth. About a third of all student loan debt is owed to the wealthiest 20 % of households and only about eight percent by the bottom 20% of households.
