The White Spider by Heinrich Herrer

Climber Joe falls into a crevasse in the Alps. His friend simon cuts him free, but he can't find his body. He tries to pull himself out of the hole by using Simon's dead body as a counterweight. But there is no one on the other end of the rope and joe begins to fear for his life. The story ends with Simon finding solace at the top of the mountain.
