How Did a Humble Board Game Become So Important?
Capitalist america and the communist us. S r emerged as the sole unchallenged super powers at the end of world war too. For the next four decades, these irreconcilable economic and political systems would fight for supremacy in the post war world. Smaller world players faced a stark choice, ally with either the capitalists or the communists, or else leave themselves exposed to their ambitions. This was a war of nerves, where tensions bubbled away beneath the surface. Because they could not be resolved in the heat of battle, they re surfaced in the most unlikely of areas. In this rule bound world, the most rule gverned of games reigned supreme.
