The mouth is the first medium through which we have our, you know, our first experiences of repression and frustration. The next stage of trying to civilize a little potential barbarian involves potty training him. It's very important to get kids past this stage pretty quickly, where they're just putting everything in their mouth. You want to get finished with that before you start toilet training, right? I mean, after the oral and anal development, there's some other stuff in the two other stages that were not about now. And finally, the genital stage -  this is the period where, youknow, walking through target areas can be really difficult for people.
