The Age of Napoleon: Episode 14: The People's Army

This episode, we look at the broader picture of what was going on in France while Napoleon was playing groccus. The economy had stabilized slightly since the desperate days of 1789, but it was still in terrible shape. French revolutionary politics were complicated; there were lots of players and there was always something happening. In April of 1792, the government added a whole new crisis to its list of headaches by declaring war on Austria.
