Schimler is a Catholic thinker heavily influenced by Aristotle through Aquinas and other theologians of the church who brought in natural law to the church. He affirms the classical Christian tradition as precisely what safeguards the thingness of things. Schimler will have to make a hard argument that something good is symbolized by this wedding of Judeo-Christianity with Roman institutions. And that it actually represents the true spirit and intention of Christianity.
