The Evolution of Amphipods
Four of the six children treated reached a stage of remission within 28 days. The furthest one out is well over a year out now, says Will Tingle from Woods Hole Osenographic Institute. A species of shrimp-like creatures called amphipods have been found living there in 11 distinct groups at these extreme depths. But they're isolated by shallower waters that surround them. These amphipod groups were found to be genetically identical, but they're so isolated that their groups never mix,. which means they could be on the verge of forming new species.
