The Metaverse and the Metaverse

The metaverse is a network of real time rendered 3D virtual worlds that can be experienced synchronously and persistently in an effectively unlimited number of users. The term was coined by Neil Stevenson in his 1992 novel called Snow Crash, where people walked around the streets with avatars who had no end and they would shop on Amazon.
