You write descriptively about how some victims of abuse grow up to expect cruelty and need it. After you started school, you were unable to actually t anybody's positive reaction to you - that you somehow craved the cruelty. When they treated me well, was really excruciating. It was really painful. A whereas just being treated badly was actually not that painful. I was completely shut off from my own feelings and comfortable with pain. You know, the book reads like an epic journey. So many times your life was in danger, either in the junk yard. We couldn't, we weren't. And i really had to trade out that self conception.
