The Industrial Revolution - What Caused It?

In his new book, David Frum talks about the historical origins of capitalism. He says there is a large literature trying to tease out what initially caused it. But he's not all that at ease with cultural explanations and has been reading more on evolutionary theory. "I am affirmatively in the materialist camp," writes Frum.
