When I just gotten the SEAL teams in 1990-1991 there were still some veterans around from Vietnam and those guys when those guys spoke you listened because they had some word to put out. So he wrote this book obviously to pass on the lessons that he learned with Henry de Boer who showed us how to die. To all the doe boys the ground pounders the grunts the American infantry men past present and especially future to them this book is dedicated. It was true he'd never been anything in his army life, but he died like a man. He became one of our greatest heroes.
