The invasion of Crimea in 2014 presented a number of very serious problems to Ukraine. The Ukrainian National Bank had just floated the nation's currency a month earlier. By invading these regions Russia denied Ukraine the economic productivity that came from these areas. Most larger businesses don't operate exclusively within one location.
