For hundreds of years they've always looked upwards, looking for God there and then we learned a bit more about the Earth and space and then we began to realize that ultimately there is no up and down. So all we can say then is the consciousness that is the essence of who you are, that you can be aware of as the awareness. And traditionally it's often the case that humans who experience great loss on the horizontal dimension often after enormous, almost unbearable suffering were able to suddenly realize the vertical dimension,. That is what is called in the Bible, the peace that passes all understanding.
