Emily holmes is a psychology professor at the opsala institute in sweden. She's found that the world inside our heads is really closely tied with our emotions. The more you use imagery, the more it can have cranks up the volume on your emotionala n emily and her team have done studies where they tell one group to think of a concept in words, and then another group to imagine the same concept, but using an image instead. People who imagined the scenarios had a far stronger emotional effect than people who merely thought about them in words.
Close your eyes and try to imagine an apple. Can you see anything? Aphantasia is the inability to see with your mind’s eye. Since it was discovered, scientists have been asking the question: What is the mind’s eye even for?
