What would you say to a Rawlsian liberal who says it's precisely our moment that demonstrates the need for Rawlsian style liberalism rather than further debates over value? Yeah, I think that my answer, it's similar to an answer that Michael Sandel has long given, which is: We tried that approach for much of the 20th century and it was ultimately unsuccessful.
