In the first few months of the war in Ukraine, we heard a lot about the foreign legion of volunteers. Tens of thousands from over 50 countries were reported to have made the journey. So what happened to these foreign fighters? Did they all go home? What are the parallels between Syria and Ukraine? And where does the Cold War on China fit into it?
