Do You Give Your Students Autonomy?
Students are dropping languages at alarming rates. German and french and spanish departments in the u.K. are closing down. So we're doing something wrong, says Mr Hoyle. And that is where it needs to change. You have control over your class room - do you give students autonomy? We know better now. There's so much research happened and has gone on. But i would love them to be confident enough to communicate in sp Spanish or french or german,. Or whatever language they use. If you can keep them in your class because your class is interesting and motivating and fun then you have more of a chance to reach inside and make sure they open their arms to other cultures
