A father who's overly affectionate to the son is that seen as problematic because it's either feminizing or some other kind of thing. A man were socialized to be more less threatened by showing one another affection. So there is an element of toxic masculinity behind this, but insofar as I'm not sure of the picture you're talking about, but I can imagine it very quickly, easily.
