The Different Types of Symptoms of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
The symptoms of neonatal abstinence syndrome or neonatal opiate withdraw specifically. What neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, it's often this constellation of both withdrawal from things like opioids, but toxidromes too and sometimes SSRIs. There are semi objective scoring tools that most hospitals use to quantify essentially those clinical signs. Many of those tools are old, they're older than any of us on this podcast. They haven't been validated and there's lots of issues with inter-rater reliability too.
