The Decimal System

The indians gave the world the decimal system, one to nine. It didn't really catch on te the the em er scholars in the atlantic world who were using a mixture of babylonian sexagecimal base 60 and greek letters denoting numbers. Even when it transferred to europe, there were european who came and translated texts from arabic into latin. They thought it was evil, islamic, a number system that they should never use. So there was this wonderful method that we all use around the world to day,. that took centuries to catch on both in the islamic world and later on, in europe.
