The FDA's Investigation of a Medical Device Fraud

Laura Perryman who is the CEO of stem wave was indicted by the DOJ for allegedly enabling false Medicare claims. The FDA never saw the plastic version and doctors said that they trust device representatives to give us devices that work so they don't really do an investigation or ask too many questions. There haven't been any changes yet as far as I can tell, but this case does raise interesting questions about how our health insurance payment system makes it difficult to secure payment if your device is different.
