The revolt seems to occur in July or August of 260. Zunaris, who is a late Byzantine source, places the origin of the revolt in a dispute over booty from an expedition against the German tribes. Posthumous has booty. Sylvanas demanded that it be handed over to Salinainus,. but posthumous refuse, gives it to his soldiers and rebels.
