The Effects of Human-Made Noise on Wildlife
Rachel Buxton and her team spent 10 years measuring millions of hours of sound in 492 protected wildlife areas across the United States. They discovered that in most of these places the noise created by humans was double the level of the nature sound. In some of the places studied, the human created noise was 10 times as loud as the background nature sounds.
