The Differences Between MPs and Normal People
MPs appear to be significantly more driven by motivations to care for those around them and support those they know personally. They're also motivated than the public to control resource and be in charge of others. The same differences appeared between members of the public and local councillors,. as well as MPs, but also between people who run for office unsuccessfully. So, very basically, it seemed to make sense to talk of a political animal.
