Climate Refugees - Is That a Threat?
The idea of climate refugees, i think, can be problematic, because it can have this idea that these others are coming from somewhere else that we don't want here. But something that really struck me is that when during one of the catastrophic fires in my home town of sonoma, north of san francisco, one of my friends wrote on facebook, climate refugees 50 miles north of San Francisco. It's not just people from somewhere else or far away who are ore being and will be affected by climate breakdown. We're ourselves and our friends and neighbors, and, i mean, going back to new york, a sea level rise is a scary threat.
