Huge clouds of thick black ash began pouring out of the crater and rising six thousand meters into the sky. Almost immediately, european aviation authorities were forced to shut their air space as wind carried the ash towards the continent. Hundreds of thousands of passengers around the world were stranded. We remember this for our bress o ar lost.
