The Monk Parakeet and the Starlings

Eugene Starling released 60 monk parakeets into Central Park in 1890. The birds have since spread to several hundred million across the US. New York state officials were dead set on killing every last one of them. Some people had actually managed to catch the birds, and wrote wondering if now that meant they had to kill them.
