"I knew that I wanted to learn how to do this thing, but I didn't realize that it would take this long," she says. "Back then, I think I was just... I had a very DIY art career." The book is written in the mission point of view, which almost no one does anymore. It's considered passé or really difficult to do; you don't have an all-knowing narrator now.
