In the french political tradition, there is almost a kind of opposite, contrarian view. republicanism and the kind of liberalism they defend neter want to get cut up. They want this dynamic, vibrant public square where people feel engaged in politics. The tribunes go at it in parliament in a kind of deeply aestheticized, embodied fashion. I mean, we're miles away from um, from this kind of deastheticized, domei domesticated public square.
