The Meaning of a Proper Name

Knowing the sense of a proper name is simply knowing how to determine whether a particular individual bears that name. I think Frager would have denied that we could express thought by visual images. We might make visual images that prompted us to have certain thoughts, but we couldn't express them in the sense in which a thought is expressed in language. So I can imagine an artist listening to this thinking, well that's Frager just extending his obsession with language beyond a reasonable realm.
