Cluster Munitions - Ukraine Using Cluster Bombs in the Donbas War
CNN reports that Ukraine has asked the US to provide cluster bombs. Cluster bombs are banned by over 100 countries under an international treaty due to the harm that they caused to civilians. They scatter small bombs, what they call bomblets over a large area, making them more indiscriminate than other munitions. Neither the US, Ukraine or Russia are parties to this treaty. The last known time that the US used them was in Yemen in 2009.
