President Steinmeier's visit to Kiev is quite interesting. He has been seen very critically in Ukraine, especially due to his role as a German foreign minister. Anne-Rei Melnik was replaced by Alexei Makayev as the Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin. I would rather argue that he redefined how diplomacy can look like at a time when once country is subjected to brutal war of aggression.
