Are You Recruiting Diverse People?
Tech companies use referrals as their main way of recruitment. A lot of work being done is typically you hang around with people who are like you. You're likely to refer people who arelike you, which means you're not going to get many diverse people. What's been proven to work is if you set yourself targets. So we need to employ X percent of certain people by a certain day. And then you employ the best person. Their diversity percentage has shot up or beaten their targets over the course of five or six years.
