"I thought I could easily be pulled to the ground just by accident, not because they knew we were together," Isabella says. "We weren't talking to each other as that was happening." She recalls trying to find her friend at an illegal vendor's table in Washington Square Park during N-Wave graduation and pride. But when she couldn't find a police officer or organizer for New York City pride, she ran out of the park.
