Introduction

HIV is an infection that attacks the body's immune system and if it's not treated, those infected eventually die. According to the World Health Organisation, there are more than 38 million people around the world living with HIV. Almost two-thirds of all these people live in Sub-Saharan Africa. Young women are twice as likely to get HIV than men of the same age. There has been a lot of progress towards both its treatment and prevention. We'll be checking in on a solution that we first looked at five years ago to get an update on a special ring that helps prevent women from getting infections.
