The Importance of Ritual in the Fourth Century

Gregory of Nazianzos was a follower of Julian the Apostate. He believed in sacramentalism, or belief that baptism saves you. Gregory's views on ritual are similar to those of Yamblokos and Biergy. The two men were at odds with each other as they tried to find their way through Greek religion.
