The New Prime Minister's Ssacking of Sir Tom Scholer
Tom Scholer's sacking was a signal that the new Prime Minister didn't want to hear what the Treasury had to say. The common thread is arrogance, says one former Treasury official. Liz Truss and Quasi Quatting were embarking on most radical rethink of British economic policy in decades. And they were doing it relatively speaking, on their own. They think of themselves as genuine radicals who believe that what these people, i.e. treasury need, is a thoroughly good kicking.
