The Design of the Universe, Chapter Five
Both biological organisms and the physical constants in the universe that permit life have the appearance of design. We cannot say why there is an appearance of design in the physical laws, but postulating a cosmological multi verse doesn't solve the problem either. This description of reality happens to explain very little - it's only at best predictive. In principle, no computer so powerful in our universe could actually predict what happens moment to moment precisely.
