Who, Mark, Luke, and John?

Matthew and John were both said to be disciples of Jesus, two of the 12 disciples. Mark was a close companion and a secretary for the apostle Peter. And then Luke, Luke was not only not a disciple, he wasn't a companion of a disciple. He was a companion of the apostle Paul in the tradition. Those are the four gospels. Most historical scholars are convinced that they were not written by Matthew, the disciples, and these,. these other two for a number of reasons.
