The Gospel Truth: What Are the Gospels of the New Testament?
Misquoting Jesus with Bart Ehrman
Who, Mark, Luke, and John?
Matthew and John were both said to be disciples of Jesus, two of the 12 disciples. Mark was a close companion and a secretary for the apostle Peter. Most historical scholars are convinced that they were not written by Matthew, the disciples, and these,. these other two for a number of reasons.
