The Importance of Focusing on Two Things

CNN's John Sutter talked about the idea that people are focused on too many things in their lives. He said he tries to keep his life simple, with only two priorities: His books and his family. The author has a "Keystone goal," which is what holds all of his other goals together. It would help him get into a PhD program or be able to provide wealth for his wife and kids at that point; it also helped me develop skills as a writer.
