M b c t is an eight week programme designed to help people deal with depression and other mood disorders. The first four weeks of mindfulness space cognotherapy are devoted to increasing the awareness of automatic pilot. Itrinsic participation, curiosity and observation of phenomena in the body and in the mind are some of the key skills taught. And then we start to layr in cognitherapy practices relating to educating people about symptoms of depression. There's also a little bit of relapse planning - what happens if you do relapse? We even get people to write a non-depressed version of themselves speaking out for advice.
