The Effects of Oral Beta Blockers on Coronary CTA
There was a statistically higher frequency of examinations with good or excellent image quality in the dual source CT group. In the single source CT group, 49.3% of examinations were performed with oral beta blockers. The absence of strict heart rate control is beneficial because it avoids adverse effects from beta blockers such as bradycardia. This study has an important role in demonstrating that CT scanners with higher temporal resolution could allow performance of coronary CTA without administration of oral beta blocker.
