A popular way to tell the story of Jacob is that he's a rotten sinner, yet God saves him. We're not well served by our translations; as Jacob and Esau grew, we're told Esau became a skillful hunter. The fact that Esau's a hunter should put us on alert. It's not promising if Esau is another Nimrod.
