The Importance of Proofs in Mathematics
I used to hang out with mathematicians a lot and they told me that there were an infinite number of prime numbers. I said is anybody looking? Maybe it just ends at a certain point and they said no there's a proof for that. How can you argue if something goes on forever? It takes a while to get used to this way of thinking but that is what mathematicians do all the time. There are lots of famous proofs in math. Who is the first person you may not know this to construct the proof that there are an Infinite Number of Prime Numbers? So it usually is cited as being a Euclid's proof but it is almost certainly not Euclid.
